DeRomo’s Gourmet Market and Restaurant in Bonita Springs is looking for a responsible RECEIVING ASSOCIATE to join our team.

The Receiving Associate must have an eye for detail and basic math skills. Receiving accepts all purchased products into the restaurant and market, verifying accuracy of delivery to purchase orders. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents for quality. Maintains storeroom in accordance with standards and rotates stock. Issues and delivers items to departments in accordance with the requisition.

Fundamental Requirements:

  • Responsible for receiving, storage and inventory of all departmental supplies and food stuffs. Also responsible for maintaining sanitation on storage areas.
  • Checks each item on the invoice against the applicable documents, counting and verifying prices on each item and checking these against specifications to verify accuracy of delivery.
  • Notifies person responsible for ordering merchandise when shipment arrives or if the shipment fails to arrive so that any discrepancies can be resolved. Signs, dates and time stamps all invoices on the respective receiving sheet, ensuring items are correctly identified.
  • Enters all non-edible merchandise on a receiving record, noting purchase order number, shortages and all other required information so all merchandise is accounted for.
  • Properly stores, rotates and dates all stock so that all items are fresh; involves transportation of heavy goods. Keeps refrigerators, freezers and storeroom organized.


  • A high school diploma with mathematical emphasis required.
  • A minimum of 2 years hospitality purchasing/receiving experience.
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe food handling standards and beverage management.

Physical requirements:

  • Full-time position sometimes requiring long hours.
  • Hours are typically 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Very heavy work, lifting in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, and in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects.
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe food handling standards and beverage management.
